To ensure that events are accessible to all participants, event coordinators, venue staff, and disability services professionals can collaborate and plan in advance. This presentation will offer a comprehensive overview of the essential components involved in coordinating accommodations to support diverse communication needs, such as those of deaf graduates and audience members. Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify resources and relationships necessary to plan accessibility into graduation ceremonies.
  • Explore accommodation, auxiliary aid, and/or technology options commonly used at graduation in person and online.
  • Create a plan for upcoming graduation ceremonies using tips, strategies, and tools provided by the National Deaf Center.
