OnDemand Webinar: Deaf People Leading the Way

The image is a promotional banner divided into two sections. The left side features a bold teal and dark blue design with white text. In the upper left corner, there is the NDC logo. Below this, in large, white letters, the text reads, "Deaf People Leading the Way." Beneath the main text, smaller text reads, "with Diego Guerra." The right side of the image shows a smiling individual with short hair, wearing glasses and a blue shirt with a white dotted pattern. The background is a neutral stone wall.

Module Description:

Centering deaf people in decision-making and systemic change can lead to increased employment opportunities and improvements to the educational settings. As part of NDC’s work, the importance of deaf representation, their experiences, and the different levels of engagement with deaf communities will be shared. Listening to community members, and letting them lead the way, is important. This is a core value of the work we do at the National Deaf Center (NDC).

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • identify levels of engagement with the deaf community
  • summarize key components of working with the deaf community
  • describe the engagement and power-sharing
