Webinar Description:

AI is taking over the world, and we all know it. What does the law say about the use of automated captioning in universities and colleges? This webinar will focus on different standards and metrics that govern captioning and accessibility.

 

Webinar Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the legal frameworks surrounding the use of automated captioning in educational institutions, particularly in universities and colleges, under existing laws and regulations about accessibility and disability rights
  • Analyze the various standards and metrics that govern captioning and accessibility in educational settings, including but not limited to the Web Content Accessibility Guidance (WCAG) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), to ensure compliance and inclusivity in AI-driven captioning technologies.
  • Evaluate the implications of AI-driven captioning technologies on educational environments, considering factors such as accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness in meeting the needs of diverse learners, while also addressing potential legal and ethical concerns related to privacy, data protection, and algorithmic biases.
