Job Announcement: Deaf Education Leadership Position (In-Person, California Credentials Required)

The LAUSD is currently seeking a dedicated leader for an in-person role, overseeing Deaf Education. This position, operating under the direction of the Special Education Related Services Director, requires a candidate who can offer leadership and technical guidance to ensure effective and inclusive instruction. The role includes offering technical support to Deaf Education Special Day Programs and related staff, supervising and evaluating personnel such as DHH itinerant teachers, sign language interpreters, and audiologists. The ideal candidate will continuously improve Deaf Education supports and services through research, policy development, and compliance monitoring, and collaborate with professionals and organizations in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education. Additionally, responsibilities include developing and overseeing professional development programs, establishing linkages with community services, managing the procurement and distribution of specialized equipment, and coordinating with various departments for seamless service delivery. Overseeing budget, strategic planning, staffing, and liaising with the Office of Staff Relations are also key aspects of this role.

Candidates must hold relevant California credentials and be committed to enhancing educational experiences for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
