DESCRIPTION:
TEXT: DEAF 101 – Can deaf people read lips?
A young Asian woman has long, wavy black hair and wears a red t-shirt. She uses sign language.

YOUNG WOMAN:
Yes, but it depends on the person. Me for example, I don’t have the fluency in English to read lips well, but pretty much most Deaf people can read lips at least a little bit. It’s not easy, but with a lot of time and practice they can. Some people may not be able to catch every word that’s spoken and may miss parts. They may not be sure what’s being said.
