Back to school isn’t just about supplies and schedules—it’s a chance to help deaf students reset, refocus, and take charge of their future. That’s where Deafverse comes in.

Designed just for deaf high school students, Deafverse is a free online game that lets players engage with everyday challenges, strengthen their self-advocacy, and prepare for success beyond school.

Choose Your Adventure—And Your Future

With Deafverse, students practice making everyday decisions through interactive stories that reflect their lived experiences.

  • Duel of the Bots: Self-Advocacy: Practice requesting accommodations, working with interpreters, and advocating in social and academic settings. Build self-determination skills for life after high school.
  • Revenge of the Deep: Career Readiness: Explore careers, prepare for job interviews, request workplace accommodations, and understand rights on the job.
  • Legends of the Eldertree: College Readiness: Learn college planning, choosing a major, working with VR counselors, selecting accommodations, and navigating financial aid.

All three games are available in ASL and English, developed by a deaf-led team.

Request Free Classroom Kits by August 1

To help you bring Deafverse into your classroom, NDC is mailing free print kits—designed specifically for high school teachers, transition specialists, and VR counselors.

When you request materials, you can choose to receive:

  • One Educator Folder containing a strategy guide to support effective use of Deafverse in your teaching
  • Student Folders for each student you support, filled with activity guides and essential transition tools focused on self-advocacy and college and career readiness

Each folder includes:

Deadline to order: August 1

Supplies are limited—order early to ensure delivery before the semester begins!

Why It Matters

Transition planning works best when it’s woven into the school year—not treated as a one-time task. These kits help educators and transition teams start meaningful conversations early and build future planning into everyday learning.

With these resources, you can:

  • Integrate Deafverse into advising, career readiness, or transition-focused classes
  • Guide students through real-world decision-making scenarios
  • Encourage early connections with vocational rehabilitation (VR) services
  • Strengthen students’ self-advocacy and college and career readiness skills over time

The image shows a composite design with two main sections. On the left, a grayscale side view of a person wearing glasses and looking towards a computer screen, mostly obscured by a textured white overlay. This side is relatively blurred, focusing attention on the right side of the image. The right section features a clear, detailed view of a computer screen displaying a statistical bar chart. The chart is composed of two vertical bars—one teal and the other black—indicating a comparison between two groups, labeled "Deaf" and "All." Numerical values "18" for "Deaf" and "31" for "All" are marked on the bars. The background is green with a dotted white pattern, adding a textured look. A small NDC icon is visible at the lower left corner.
