
Dr. Jeffrey Levi Palmer is a researcher, heritage signer, and Coda. He is interested not only in the formative factors that contribute to optimal language, literacy, and academic outcomes but also in identifying educational and social practices that can be implemented today to enhance postsecondary outcomes. For over a decade, he has worked as a professional sign language interpreter (NIC, Ed:K–12) and taught graduate-level courses to deaf students. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Chinese Language and Culture from Friends World College at Long Island University and obtained master’s and doctoral degrees in Linguistics from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
