Accessibility Resources Coordinator

We are seeking an Accessibility Resource Coordinator. The Coordinator will lead the NDC Help team, oversee customized guidance in response to inquiries, contribute to content development for NDC resources and training, and provide outreach support for the center.

  • Lead and coordinate the NDC Help team, providing customized guidance and support in response to inquiries.
  • Contribute to content development for NDC resources and training.
  • Provide outreach support for the center.
  • Recommend or refer to relevant resources.
  • Ensure person-centered customer service.
  • Seasoned expertise in coordinating and implementing accommodations in postsecondary settings,
  • Knowledge of disability services, accessibility laws, policies, and practices, and community resources to promote equitable opportunities for deaf people,
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Willingness to work autonomously.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic team and collective organization.
  • Accountability for work and readiness to support others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., education, social work, disability studies).
  • Experience working with deaf individuals or in a related field.
  • Familiarity with technical assistance activities.

NDC Internships and Research Assistantships

Gain work experience and build skills by doing an internship or research assistantship with us! You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with NDC staff through a mentoring partnership to develop professional skills in your area of interest.

We are looking for interns and research assistants who are as excited about our work as we are! These opportunities provide experiential learning for students wishing to gain practical work experience – no previous experience is required. You might be a good fit if you are reliable and organized, have strong communication skills, and can work independently as well as part of a team.

Read below to learn more about internship and research assistantship opportunities with the NDC team. All positions are paid and can be done remotely, unless the description says otherwise. Hourly rates will align with the pay scale for student employees at the University of Texas at Austin. We are looking for people who can commit to working with us for 10-19 hours per week for at least a semester.

NDC Interns Braden Hamaker, Kyree Fisher, Aliyah Castillo, and Lydia Kopp

NDC is looking to recruit Research Assistants (remote position) for the upcoming 2024 Fall semester, this opportunity is for:

  • Currently enrolled students (graduate students preferred)
  • Experience or training in the following topic areas: demography, higher education, disability services, equitable practices in education settings, competitive integrated employment, transition services, and self-advocacy.

 

As a Research Assistant, you will:

  • Work 10-19 hours per week and attend weekly team meetings
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings
  • Write & develop content for website and stakeholder communications
  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation
  • Perform statistical analyses on large secondary datasets
  • Support the development of data briefs, reports, and presentations
