We have exciting news to share! The National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes (NDC) has once again received funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). This means we can continue our work for another five years, and hopefully beyond!
Our goal at NDC has always been to foster #DeafSuccess and support deaf students, families, educators, agency leaders, and disability service professionals. Over the past five years, by working closely with state and local community leaders, we are proud to have provided customized support to more than 2,000 people, schools, and organizations across the country. Our support extended even further digitally, where our extensive online resources have been downloaded over 200,000 times.
While we continue to navigate challenges of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will prioritize the safety of our NDC community. NDC will continue to offer online events, online professional development courses, and COVID-specific support, along with timely guidance and strategies to center deaf experiences in the support of #DeafSuccess.
Despite ongoing challenges, we’ve seen so many success stories, including schools and organizations who have improved their services for deaf people during these difficult times. What we’ve learned from these challenges and successes over the past five years will guide our work going forward and help us continue our work towards access for deaf people.
Our community relationships are such an important part of who we are. Your continued support, input, and feedback is a vital part of helping us plan for the next five years. We look forward to continuing to serve you for years to come!
