Mark’s Story. Captioning Online Classes

SPEECH
Throughout my experience here, coming back to UT in 2013, my request has been respected. They’ve always agreed to my requests. I remember the first class I took was an online psychology class, with like 800 students and it was online, and I worked with the head of the psychology department and the student services office. And they made sure they had captioning available for that online class, and I thought that was great. So that encouraged me to ask for accommodations going forward. So it was a very positive experience coming back to school to have captions added on for a class of 800 students, where I’m probably the only deaf person.
