TEXT: DEAF 101 – How much can you hear?
A young Asian woman has long, wavy black hair and wears a red t-shirt. She uses sign language.
YOUNG WOMAN:
Really, my whole life, I’ve been deaf. I can’t hear anything. If I use a hearing aid, I can’t really identify the sound I’m hearing. But the one thing I can recognize is rain. I remember what the sound of rain is. But really, I can’t hear much. I’m completely deaf.
DESCRIPTION:
A young black man has buzzcut hair and a small goatee style beard. He wears a navy blue polo shirt. He uses sign language.
YOUNG MAN:
I can hear a little bit, not much. But when I wear my hearing aid it helps a lot. I can hear spoken words, music, people chatting, the background noises that happen all around us. What I enjoy the most, is music.
