NDC offers a FREE service to support and enhance your institution’s services for deaf students!

“The quality of accommodations available on campus and the type of resources the institution offers can be a significant factor in the overall education obtained by the student.”
NDC | on site is an opportunity for colleges to address challenges and system barriers that impact postsecondary outcomes for deaf students. Our team will support institutions with designing accessible environments and equitable experiences for deaf students on campus. This service is customized to each selected institution with dedicated support provided through 2021.
If your campus is experiencing challenges with providing quality and equitable access for deaf people, consider applying for NDC | on site services. This service includes the following:
- A campus visit: An assessment of policies and procedures for deaf services, an evaluation of campus access, and dialogue with staff and students.
- A customized report: A summary of institutional strengths, areas of improvement, and recommended resources.
- An individualized action plan: Based on NDC’s assessment report, a concise plan will be prepared for the institution to implement changes with resources and milestones to complete action items proposed.
- A partnership: Ongoing dialogue and support for the selected institution to guide implementation of the individualized action plan.
NDC | on site is a collaborative partnership between the selected institution and NDC, with the goal of improving postsecondary outcomes for deaf students. The selected institution will need to commit approximately three hours per week for the first six months to assist in developing the best possible plan for your institution. The collective experience and background from both partners is critical with implementing a successful plan.
There is no cost to the institution for this service. Selection for NDC | on site services will be determined using the information on received from the application. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis; and up to 3 institutions will be selected each year. Candidates with deaf students currently enrolled at their institution providing accommodations will be prioritized based on the need demonstrated in their application.
