Carmen is a dedicated and compassionate professional fostering belonging and opportunities in higher education and beyond.  With 13 years of experience providing crucial support services to historically marginalized and underrepresented students at both community colleges and four-year universities. Throughout her career, Carmen has served as a dedicated advisor to students with disabilities. Offering guidance in academic planning, registration, career development, and internship preparedness, while consistently collaborating with various departments to enrich the overall student experience. Her contributions have extended to facilitating classroom and testing accommodations, including playing a pivotal role in implementing remote counseling and testing solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Carmen has also provided comprehensive counseling services to students from all different backgrounds and has conducted informative workshops on a wide range of awareness and educational topics.

She is committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives while continuing to learn, coordinate, develop, and deliver support services with NDC and her community. Her education includes a Master of Arts in Counseling, specializing in College Counseling and Student Services, from Kean University, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with a focus on Justice from Ramapo College of New Jersey and dual associate degrees in Social Work and Business Administration/Management from Bergen Community College.
