Spring semester is upon us and that means that students will be busy in the upcoming months as they prepare for graduation and post-graduation plans. Typically spring semester brings about a variety of opportunities and a season of change for all students, especially those that are preparing to complete their studies at their institution. For disability services, preparing for student accommodations and access may require additional considerations and planning. This webinar is designed to highlight person-centered practices, tips, and suggestions for campus accessibility, study abroad programs, internships, and graduation. The strategies and resources that will be shared via this webinar are intended to build and strengthen individual and institutional capacity to serve deaf students. Join the National Deaf Center for a webinar on our best tips and strategies for a successful Spring semester in supporting deaf students in higher education. While this webinar is designed for DSS personnel and postsecondary students, all are encouraged to attend to learn more about preparing for spring semester events. The agenda for this webinar is derived from common inquiries to NDC’s Help Desk which include:
  • Ways to best support students during their spring semester
  • How to effectively provide access for graduation ceremonies
  • Supporting deaf students who are planning to study abroad
  • Accommodating students who are in internships
Join us on February 23rd, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm CT for a discussion on how planning, creativity, flexibility, and partnership can lead to positive and accessible experiences for deaf students.
